A Jacksonville resident since 1998, Philip has continually been involved in music ministry within the Diocese of St. Augustine. Philip has lead music at the Eucharistic Congress for the past 4 years during the Friday evening Stations of the Cross, as well as for the Youth and Young Adult Tracks. We are happy to him back leading worship again this year!
Philip was the music director of the Life Teen program at Christ the King CC for several years, and currently plays music for the annual Diocesan Young Adult Retreat, the Rachel Vineyard Retreats, as well as filling in regularly at Holy Spirit, St. Joseph and Resurrection Catholic Churches.
Music has always been an important part of Philip’s life, but it was while attending college in New Jersey that he had a deep conversion that would be the impetus for his decisions going forward.
God had touched Philip’s heart while he played guitar and prayed alone in a basement room. And after graduating from college, he decided to join a religious order called the Brotherhood of Hope (currently based out of Boston). It was there that he grew in his love for God and had the opportunity to lead others in worship in various roles while a religious Brother in the community.
Although Philip had made temporary vows with the Brotherhood of Hope, he soon realized God had a different plan for him and left the order before making his Final Vows. A year later, Philip began courting the love of his life, Rebecca and soon afterward they married in 1999.
After years of struggling with infertility, Philip and Rebecca are now the parents of 3 wonderful boys and are founding members of Families Following Christ in Jacksonville, FL. Philip continues to help lead worship and Adoration on a regular basis.
